Dr. Mahaso is a highly experienced executive who currently serves as the Chief Internal Auditor for the City of West Palm Beach where she combines her background as an attorney and an auditor to lead her team in providing value-added audits, consultation services, and investigations. She takes pride in helping organizations identify cost savings and gain efficiencies while effectively delivering the end products or services.
Beverly began her career as an attorney successfully practicing criminal, employment, family, and immigration law in state and federal courts before moving into internal auditing. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver and is also a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Fraud Examiner. Beverly recently received an award for the Best Performance Audit in the small shop category from the Association of Local Government Auditors (ALGA). Beverly also uses her experience to conduct evaluations of other audit shops and is called upon as a subject matter expert. Beverly enjoys sharing her knowledge at conferences and universities to inspire others to achieve their goals. Beverly serves as the Vice President of the IIA Palm Beach Chapter where she focuses on designing and executing highly rated and sought after continuing education conferences. She is also an Advisory Board Member for St. Mary’s Hospital and serves as a Selection Committee Member for ALGA. |
